Job summary

Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking a Budget Analyst 3 in Atlanta to develop, analyze, and manage budgets for the Office of Family Independence and regional programs. You will prepare operating budgets, load them into GA@Work and the Uniform Accounting System (UAS), and monitor expenditures.

Under broad supervision, you will review program budgets, perform financial analyses, and collaborate with program managers to realign spending.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting, business/public administration, or finance and four years of fiscal analysis experience; or two years at Budget Analyst 2 level.
• Strong Excel skills incl. Pivot Tables and VLookup; knowledge of state/federal fiscal processes.

Responsibilities

• Develops, analyzes and revises budgets for OFI and Regional Programs within the DFCS Budget Office.
• Prepares annual operating budgets and loads budgets into GA@Work and UAS; enters revisions.
• Prepare multi-level budgets with multiple fund sources and projects.
• Prepare quarterly projections and review expenditure data and journal entries.
• Meet with program managers to discuss budget needs and realignments.
