The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking a Budget Analyst 3 based in Atlanta, GA. This role supports the Office of Family Independence Budget Office, develops annual budgets, analyzes expenditures, and coordinates with regional programs to ensure accurate financial reporting and grant management.

The position offers a flexible schedule, retirement and welfare benefits, and potential telework depending on position. Strong Excel skills and fiscal analysis experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting, business/public administration, or finance with 4 years of fiscal analysis experience or 2 years at Budget Analyst 2.
• Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of fiscal analysis experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops, prepares, analyzes and revises budget schedules for the DFCS Budget Office.
• Analyzes budget program issues and recommends actions to management.
• Manages budgets within OFI and Regional Programs (UAS).
• Prepares Annual Operating Budget and loads budgets into GA@Work and UAS; makes revisions as needed.
• Prepares multi-level budgets for OFI and Regional Programs with multiple fund sources.
• Prepares quarterly expenditures and grant-related projections.
• Corrects expenditure errors in budget systems and reviews GL coding.
