Job summary

Bowhead seeks a Base Telecommunications System Site Manager to lead the BTS operations for the United States Air Force. You will supervise technicians, coordinate with the COR and leadership, and ensure contract performance and safety on site.

Key duties include planning work, managing O&M for voice, data, fiber and copper networks, overseeing PMIs and outages, maintaining records, and supporting continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Thorough knowledge of telecommunications operations and maintenance.
• Experience managing Inside Plant (ISP) and Outside Plant (OSP).
• Working knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and/or Avaya Communication Manager.
• Experience with VoIP, fiber/copper cabling systems, and PMIs.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily BTS contract operations and supervise technicians and staff.
• Serve as primary on-site interface with COR and government stakeholders.
• Plan, assign, and prioritize work to meet contractual timelines.
• Oversee O&M activities for voice, data, fiber, and copper networks.
• Coordinate PMIs, outages, and emergency restoration activities.
• Review and monitor work orders, estimates, and project execution.
