Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare seeks a Level II Competent Registered Nurse to deliver patient-centered care using the nursing process within a collaborative healthcare team. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for assigned patients while supporting continuity and quality improvement across units.

The role requires a BSN, valid RN license (Virginia or compact state), BLS, and NIHSS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and has experience as a Registered Nurse.
• BSN required.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• NIHSS (Bluecloud) required within 90 days.
• External Temporary RN: BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP within hire; CPI/ONS/NIHSS within 30 days; TNCC/ENPC within 30 days or next course.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate nursing care with licensed/unlicensed staff.
• Coordinate patient/family and health team teaching and discharge planning.
• Communicate plan of care to care team and other departments.
• Support nurse leadership to define standards of care and drive improvement.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality activities.
• Assist orientation of new staff and act as a policy resource.
