Job summary

Grouchy Grizzly is seeking a reliable sauté cook to join the kitchen team. The ideal candidate will prepare sautéed dishes with precision, manage mise en place, and ensure consistent presentation.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with the brigade to deliver hot plates on time while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The role requires strong knife skills, knowledge of sauces and browning methods, and the ability to thrive under pressure during peak service

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Sauté Cook in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of sauté techniques, pan sauces, reductions and browning.
• Excellent knife skills and ingredients knowledge.
• Ability to work under pressure during peak service hours.
• Food safety knowledge and proper hygiene procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook sautéed dishes with precision and presentation.
• Manage mise en place for the sauté station.
• Monitor temperatures, times and portion sizes.
• Execute recipes with texture, color and plating.
• Coordinate service with the brigade for timely hot plates.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized workstation and follow safety guidelines.
• Operate sauté pans, woks, stock pots and similar equipment.
• Contribute to menu development and daily specials.
