Job summary

The Ruby Slipper Cafe in Baton Rouge is seeking a kitchen professional to accurately and efficiently prepare hot food products and portion ingredients prior to cooking. You will plate and garnish dishes, maintain a clean, sanitary work area, and follow our standards and recipes.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of kitchen experience, strong communication, and can lift up to 50 lbs while standing for extended periods. This is a full-time role at our Baton Rouge location.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
• Ability to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and front-of-house staff.
• Able to lift up to 50lbs and stand for long periods.
• Must follow Ruby Standards and recipes, maintain portion sizes and quality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare hot food products and portion food prior to cooking.
• Plate and garnish cooked items and prepare appropriate garnishes for all hot menu item plates.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work area.
