AM Line Cook (Full-Time)

Location: City Cellars HTX – Houston, TX

Schedule: Thursday–Monday | Morning Shifts | Full-Time

About The Role

City Cellars HTX is a chef-driven brunch and bistro concept known for bold flavors, scratch cooking, and high-volume brunch service. We’re hiring AM Line Cooks who are fast, focused, and thrive under pressure. You'll be responsible for executing egg dishes, proteins, brunch classics, and seasonal features with consistency, speed, and pride.

What You’ll Do

  • Cook brunch dishes to order with consistency and attention to presentation
  • Master egg cookery (fried, poached, scrambled, over-easy, omelets, etc.)
  • Work multiple stations (grill, fry, sauté, eggs, cold station) as needed
  • Call back tickets and communicate clearly during service
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked station
  • Follow recipes and plating standards without shortcuts
  • Assist with AM prep: proteins, sauces, vegetables, and batch recipes
  • Contribute to the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen post-shift

Must-Haves

  • Thursday through Monday AM availability is required
  • 2+ years experience in a high-volume brunch or breakfast kitchen
  • Strong knife skills and comfort with a variety of cooking techniques
  • Fluency in egg cookery is a must
  • Able to work fast, clean, and with urgency
  • English-speaking (bilingual Spanish/English is a plus)
  • Able to lift 50 lbs and stand for long shifts
  • Professional and team-oriented in a visible, open-kitchen setting

Esta posición requiere experiencia con huevos, proteínas y platillos clásicos de brunch en una cocina ocupada y exigente.

Responsabilidades

  • Cocinar platos de brunch con consistencia y buena presentación
  • Dominar la preparación de huevos (estrellados, revueltos, pochados, omelets, etc.)
  • Trabajar en varias estaciones: parrilla, freidora, salteado, estación fría y de huevos
  • Cantar órdenes y comunicarse claramente durante el servicio
  • Mantener la estación limpia, organizada y bien abastecida
  • Seguir recetas y estándares de emplatado al pie de la letra
  • Apoyar con la preparación matutina: proteínas, salsas, vegetales, recetas por lote
  • Colaborar en la limpieza y organización del área de cocina después del turno

Requisitos

  • Disponibilidad obligatoria de jueves a lunes por la mañana
  • 2+ años de experiencia en cocinas de brunch o desayuno de alto volumen
  • Buen manejo de cuchillos y técnicas básicas de cocina
  • Dominio en la preparación de huevos es esencial
  • Capacidad para trabajar rápido, limpio y con sentido de urgencia
  • Comprensión del inglés (bilingüe español/inglés es una ventaja)
  • Capaz de levantar 50 libras y trabajar de pie por periodos prolongados
  • Presentación profesional y actitud positiva en una cocina abierta al público

Salario y Beneficios

  • Pago base: $16–$18 por hora
  • + $2 por hora adicional para empleados con disponibilidad abierta y mínimo 5 turnos por semana
