The Root Cafe is seeking an energetic breakfast cook to join our award-winning kitchen. This role focuses on breakfast and brunch service with an emphasis on local sourcing and scratch cooking.

Responsibilities include timely prep, cooking to recipe specifications, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen while supporting the front-of-house and receiving teams. Must contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Timely arrival; breakfast shift starts at 6:00 AM; Lunch shifts start at 9:00 or 10:00 AM
• Execute breakfast and brunch service with consistency, speed, and attention to detail
• Prepare and cook menu items to recipe specifications
• Complete daily prep tasks
• Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe kitchen at all times
• Follow all sanitation, food safety, and storage protocols
• Support dishwashing and general kitchen cleanliness as needed
• Assist with receiving and properly storing deliveries
• Communicate clearly with front-of-house and kitchen team members
• Contribute to a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment
