Job summary

WSB is seeking an experienced Environmental Project Scientist/Manager to lead Brownfields assessment, remediation, and redevelopment projects in the western United States, including Idaho. You will manage projects, oversee field work, mentor staff, and provide technical leadership for site assessment and remediation, reporting to clients and regulators.

The role requires a BS in an environmental field, 8–10 years of experience, and strong knowledge of EPA regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant environmental field; master's preferred.
• 8–10 years of environmental consulting/regulatory experience.
• Experience managing Brownfields, CERCLA, RCRA, UST/LUST projects.
• Experience with Phase I/II ESAs.
• Strong knowledge of EPA/state regulations.
• Experience preparing QAPPs and regulatory reports.
• Experience data validation and QA.
• Project management skills including scope, schedule, and budget.
• Strong client management and communication.
• Valid driver's license with insurable record.

Responsibilities

• Manage Brownfields assessment, cleanup, redevelopment projects from planning to completion.
• Develop scopes of work, budgets, schedules, staffing plans.
• Be primary client contact and coordinate with regulators.
• Support EPA Brownfields grants and related programs.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams of scientists, engineers, geologists, risk assessors, subcontractors.
• Oversee execution for technical quality, schedule, budget, and compliance.
• Prepare QAPPs, work plans, technical reports, regulatory deliverables.
• Perform environmental data validation, analysis, interpretation.
• Develop practical recommendations for site characterization and risk management.
• Mentor and manage technical staff.
• Support business development by maintaining relationships and identifying new opportunities.
