Job summary

WSB is seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager/Scientist to lead Brownfields assessment, remediation, and redevelopment projects across the western United States.

You will manage projects, nurture client relationships, supervise staff, and provide technical leadership for site assessment and remediation efforts, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance from planning through delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related field; Master's preferred.
• 8–10 years of environmental consulting or related experience.
• Experience managing Brownfields, CERCLA, RCRA, UST/LUST or similar projects.
• Experience conducting Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
• Strong knowledge of EPA and state environmental regulations and guidance.
• Experience preparing QAPPs, technical reports, and regulatory deliverables.
• Experience performing environmental data validation and QA reviews per EPA requirements.
• Demonstrated project management, including scope, schedule, budget, and subcontractor management.
• Strong client management and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Manage Brownfields assessment, cleanup, and redevelopment projects from planning to completion.
• Develop scopes of work, budgets, schedules, staffing plans, and technical approaches.
• Serve as primary contact for clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
• Support EPA Brownfields programs including work plans and reporting.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate with scientists, engineers, and subcontractors.
• Oversee project execution for technical quality, schedule, budget, and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare and review QAPPs, work plans, reports, and regulatory deliverables.
• Perform environmental data validation and interpretation.
• Develop defensible recommendations for site characterization and risk management.
• Supervise and mentor technical staff; plan workload and staffing.
• Support business development by maintaining client relationships and identifying opportunities.
