Job summary

A security services company in Brooklyn is seeking a Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of construction sites. Responsibilities include controlling vehicle and visitor access, patrolling the site, responding to emergencies, and logging activities. Candidates must possess a NYS Security Guard License, OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification, and strong communication skills. Qualifications

• Must have NYS Security Guard License and current 8 Hour Annual Certificate.
• Must have S60 certificate of fitness for Construction sites.
• Prior security experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

This position is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of Construction sites. The primary objective is to detect, deter, and report all incidents in addition to enforcing site policies and procedures. This position reports to the Duty Sergeant (shift supervisor) and Lieutenant (Site Manager) of the Facility.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Control all vehicles and visitors to the construction site.
• Log the listing of all vehicles, deliveries, and visitors on the construction site.
• Escorting visitors to the construction office.
• Secure entrance during non-operating hours.
• Foot patrol of the construction site.
• Inspection of exterior fencing checking for security breaches.
• Maintain watch over construction equipment.
• Maintain watch over office trailers and their contents.
• Emergency Security Officer coverage.
• Emergency response (fire or other emergencies).
• Perform an inventory check on all the equipment at the beginning and end of their shift.
• Prepare daily activity and incident reports.
• Use flashlights, two-way radios, whistles, reflective security vests, pagers, and cell phones.
• Notify local police and/or fire departments when needed.
• Submit Daily Activity Reports (DAR’s)
• Complete FDNY Logs
• Provide duties related to fire incidents and evacuation when necessary, utilizing Fire procedures.
• Ensure the maintenance of all assigned equipment.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Experience, Education, And Special Requirements

• Must have NYS Security Guard License, and current 8 Hour Annual Certificate.
