Job summary

Hope Center in The Bronx, NY seeks a Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) to provide treatment services at our Skilled Nursing Facility. A Bachelor's degree, CASAC credential, and 350 hours of approved CASAC training are required, with leadership skills and bilingual English/Spanish.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or currently completing it.
College for a Bachelor's in Human Services or be CASAC credentialed.
Completed 350 hours of OASAS CASAC training and eligible for certification.
Minimum of one year experience with substance abusers or related field.
HIV/AIDS knowledge or related field experience.
Bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

Conduct individual and group counseling and maintain resident charts.
Develop and oversee Treatment Plans.
Provide relapse prevention information through groups, seminars and individual sessions.
Develop and update Substance Abuse Treatment Plans and coordinate with other departments.
Assist residents in understanding treatment phases and conduct welcome interviews.
Review residents' policies, rights and responsibilities.
Perform facility rounds to ensure safety and integrity of environment.
Monitor resident behavior and care plan compliance and cover clinic desk when needed.
