Job summary

Acacia Network, a leading nonprofit in New York, seeks a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) to deliver comprehensive counseling services in approved settings. You will perform assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide individual and group counseling to clients facing substance use barriers to employment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Valid OASAS CASAC certification.
• 3+ years of experience in an OASAS program.

Responsibilities

• Develops and conducts group, individual and family counseling on a scheduled basis for caseload clients/residents.
• Obtain weekly random urine samples according to established protocol.
• Orient clients about program goals, rules, rights, obligations and operation.
• Demonstrates knowledge of group work management techniques and uses those techniques appropriately.
• Demonstrates appropriate treatment planning and clinical intervention.
• Demonstrates knowledge of documentation requirements and maintains records.
• Provides education about alcohol and drug abuse to clients.
• Maintains and updates referral resources and makes referrals when necessary.
• Prepare legal monthly reports monthly or as needed.
