Job summary

Veronica Arts Media, Inc. is seeking a Program Director for its Bronx-based, after-school DYCD COMPASS/SONYC program.

You will lead daily operations, supervise staff, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and coordinate with the principal, families, and community partners to deliver academic enrichment, arts, sports, and literacy initiatives. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a child-related field and supervisory experience, plus relevant clearances.

Qualifications

• SACC Director requirement and eligibility.
• Statewide Central Registry clearance.
• Department of Health clearance.
• Direct experience with school-age children or 3+ years supervisory/management experience in youth development or educational settings.
• Two years of college with 18 credits in child development or related field.

Responsibilities

• Ensure activities align with DYCD COMPASS and SONYC requirements and organizational goals.
• Oversee daily site operations for a safe, structured, compliant program.
• Manage attendance tracking, data entry, and DYCD Connect documentation.
• Supervise and support site staff including Content Specialist and Activity Specialists.
• Conduct staff observations and provide coaching and professional development.
• Ensure compliance with SACC regulations including supervision ratios and safety protocols.
• Serve as primary contact with NYCPS school personnel, families, and partners.
• Lead recruitment and retention to meet enrollment targets.
• Support high-quality programming across literacy, STEM, arts, civic engagement, and NYC Reads initiatives.
• Coordinate inclusion supports and manage IAPs for diverse participants.
• Lead safety drills, behavior protocols, and crisis management plans.
