Grandsettlement seeks a Program Director to oversee the COMPASS Middle School after-school program in Brooklyn, ensuring quality services and staff supervision. The role requires leadership to maintain daily operations, partnerships, and compliance with DYCD requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree, 3+ years in youth program work (supervisory), and experience with curriculum development, budgeting, and data systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• At least three years of experience in a community center or school-based after school program; two years in a supervisory capacity.
• Must obtain SACC Program Director's (30 hour) credentials.
• Ability to work independently, prioritizes, and takes initiative.
• Effective oral, written, collaborative skills.
• Experience in lesson planning, curriculum development, and implementation of structured programming for middle school.
• Familiarity with program budgeting and fiscal management.
• Familiarity with DYCD Connect and database management is a plus.
• Ability to maintain SCR clearance; fingerprint clearance throughout employment.
• Experience working with students in urban school/community settings.
• Must be computer literate.
• Capacity to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
• Spanish speaking is a plus.
• Must build positive relationships with school administration.
• Knowledge of NYS Learning Standards; STEM/Health/Careers etc desirable.
• Public speaking, writing and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of STEM, Health & Sexuality, Careers & Life Planning, Sports & Adventure, and Academic Enrichment desirable.

Responsabilités

• Oversees day-to-day operations of COMPASS contract and related programs.
• Coordinate outreach, enrollment and application processes.
• Ensure the program exceeds 85% Average Daily Attendance.
• Implement core components: Academic Support, STEM, Arts Enrichment, Physical Activity, Parent Involvement, Leadership.
• Work with school administration to align after-school with day school learning.
• Seek partnerships to enhance programming and identify new opportunities.
• Coordinate part-time staff schedules and provide supervision.
• Serve as primary liaison for school administrators, parents and community partners.
• Maintain engagement and safety in live sessions remotely.
• Prepare timelines and action items for events and initiatives.
• Maintain remote attendance logs and ensure content is age-appropriate.
• Ensure goals and objectives met by deadlines; conduct evaluations and program refinement.
• Organize parent orientations and meetings.
