Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in risk management, finance, business administration, or related field.
• Minimum 2+ years of underwriting or relevant insurance experience.
• Demonstrated applied knowledge of underwriting principles, guidelines, and practices.
• Experience in a collaborative, broker-focused service environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze risk factors and determine appropriate pricing and coverage within delegated authority.
• Review applications, financial statements, inspection reports, and other documents to assess exposure.
• Apply underwriting guidelines, line of business strategies, and risk appetite frameworks.
• Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with brokers or clients to secure profitable business.
• Collaborate with internal teams such as claims, actuarial, and finance to resolve coverage or policy issues.
• Maintain accurate documentation for all underwriting decisions and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Monitor portfolio performance and identify trends to recommend corrective action.
• Participate in training and development initiatives to stay up-to-date on products, regulations, and market trends.
