Job summary

Morgan Hunter seeks a broker-facing underwriter to handle complex surplus lines risks across multiple industries from a specialty insurance platform. You will build strong broker relationships, negotiate terms, and manage a profitable book of business in a fast-paced environment.

You will leverage an established broker network and internal resources to drive growth, while progressing toward greater autonomy and long-term income growth in the E&S market.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of commercial underwriting experience, preferably E&S or specialty lines.
• Solid understanding of non-admitted markets and complex risk evaluation.
• Broker-facing experience with negotiation and influence.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, price, and structure complex surplus lines risks across industries.
• Work with wholesale and retail brokers to negotiate terms and secure new business.
• Manage the full underwriting lifecycle: submissions, renewals, endorsements.
• Develop and maintain broker relationships to drive deal flow.
• Apply underwriting judgment balancing risk and profitability.
