Job summary

KET, Kentucky’s statewide public television network, is seeking a Broadcast Technician to maintain RF, microwave, Satellite Transmission Systems and related facilities at our Lexington facility. You'll support digital TV transmission, outages, and live events.

Ideal candidate has a two-year technical degree in electronics, experience with TV/radio broadcasting equipment, good physical condition, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical college degree in electronics or equivalent.
• Experience operating and maintaining TV/radio broadcasting equipment and RF systems.
• Moderate physical activity and ability to lift up to 50 pounds; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain RF transmission systems, including high power DTV transmitters and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair RF transmission equipment to board and component level.
• Install and operate ATSC 3.0 television systems and perform performance measurements.
• Maintain transmitter buildings, grounds, HVAC, UPS, and emergency generators; procure supplies.
• Support live events with microwave, IP, and satellite links.
