Job summary

FOX Television Stations is hiring a versatile Transmitter and Studio Engineer to support the Mt. Wilson transmitter facility and West Los Angeles studios. The role blends hands-on maintenance of cutting-edge broadcast gear with ownership of high‑power transmission systems.

The candidate should bring 2–3 years in electronics repair, AV setup, or IT/networking, plus a technical degree or equivalent training. Flexibility for on-call outages and a strong safety mindset are essential.

Qualifications

2–3 years in electronics repair, studio AV setup, IT/networking or military technical roles.
Strong grasp of signal flow, electrical safety, and use of basic tools.
Basic IT networking knowledge (IP addresses, subnets, switches, PCs).
Valid driver's license and safe driving record; ability to drive in mountain roads in various conditions.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders.
Flexible schedule; on-call for outages.
Experience with soldering, cable fabrication, reading schematics.

Responsibilities

Operate and calibrate high‑power transmitters and RF switchgear at Mt. Wilson.
Monitor site power, IT systems, microwave/signal transport, uplinks and generators.
Respond to transmitter outages and perform on-site repairs to restore service.
Ensure FCC compliance at transmitter site.
Install and troubleshoot studio cameras, robotic pedestals, switchers, and audio consoles.
Maintain central router, master control systems, and signal routing.
Support newsroom IT, editing bays, playout servers, and automation systems.
Integrate new equipment into racks and patch panels.
