Job summary
Hearst Television is seeking a Broadcast Systems Technician to install, maintain, and improve broadcast, IT, and transmission systems supporting a 24/7 operation. You will work across technical disciplines under Engineering and Technology leadership to ensure reliable content acquisition, automation, distribution, and business systems.
The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, cybersecurity awareness, and strong documentation practices, with travel to remote facilities as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in a related technical field.
- Strong troubleshooters and problem-solvers with good communication.
- Ability to work independently and in a team as required.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and support broadcast, media workflows, and facility infrastructure.
- Support servers, storage, virtualization, workstations, OS, cloud services, and enterprise apps.
- Configure IP networking including switching, routing, wireless, and security.
- Support media automation, production control, CMS, newsroom tech, graphics, and distribution workflows.
- Maintain documentation, inventories, and procedures.
- Travel to remote facilities and transmitter sites as needed.
