Job summary

Hearst is seeking an experienced Broadcast Maintenance Technician in Omaha, NE. You will support IT and broadcast operations, maintain and repair IT systems, cameras, transmitters and related equipment while collaborating with the engineering team.

The role offers hands-on training, mentoring, and opportunities to advance within the station as you work on critical on-air workflows. Strong electronics and IT basics are essential.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of electronics and component repair.
• Knowledge of computers, computer systems and basic IP networking.
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting equipment.
• Skills with video production, microwave systems and IT infrastructure.
• Ability to lift, carry and move up to 50 pounds, climb ladders and work on rooftops and in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Support station IT operations under the direction of the IT Manager, Assistant Chief Engineer and Director of Engineering.
• Maintain LAN and IT infrastructure, including the installation and support of network hardware and software.
• Work with engineering and IT management and staff to support critical on-air systems and workflows, including news, production and broadcast systems and equipment.
• Provide user support in a Windows workstation environment for custom and standard software applications.
• Assist users with installing and using new software features, applying service updates and implementing operating system upgrades.
• Conduct troubleshooting, installation, research, documentation and cabling tasks.
