Job summary

Nexstar Media Group, Inc. seeks a Maintenance Engineer to manage and maintain broadcast and technology equipment within the facility. You will assist in FCC/compliance matters and help implement new technologies and infrastructure while supporting engineering projects and IT systems.

The role requires hands-on maintenance, cable termination, and the ability to coordinate with management to meet company objectives, including occasional extended hours and travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • 3 years previous broadcast engineering experience.
  • Ability to terminate broadcast and IT related cables.
  • Experience with broadcast automation systems, routers, video storage devices, SAN storage, satellite ground stations, and RF preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and organization skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work extended hours, may include overnight travel and weekends to maintain/repair transmitter and microwave equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage all broadcast and technology equipment within the facility.
  • Understand and assist in compliance with FCC, local, state, and federal laws.
  • Help implement new technologies and technical infrastructure for the facility.
  • Participate in engineering and other technical projects.
  • Evaluate, select, service, and maintain facility broadcast equipment and IT systems.
  • Work closely with management and co-workers to ensure company objectives are met.
  • Other duties as needed.
