Job summary

SNY in New York is seeking a seasoned Broadcast Engineer to join our Engineering and Operations team. This in-office role supports daily live productions, maintenance, and control room operations at our World Trade Center facility with occasional field travel to venues.

The ideal candidate brings 7+ years in a studio broadcast setting, hands-on experience with Avid, Adobe CC, SSL audio, Grass Valley/ Ross switchers, IP/ LAN infrastructure, and a solid track record under pressure.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or Computer Science or 7 years of broadcast staff engineer experience.
• Experience with non-linear edit systems (Avid, Adobe CC) and live studio production.
• Strong knowledge of SSL audio, Grass Valley/Ross switchers, and robotics.
• Proficient in IP/LAN infrastructures and storage technology.

Responsibilities

• Support daily live in-studio productions including control rooms and feeds.
• Perform preventative maintenance on studio and newsroom equipment.
• Back up studio technical managers and oversee live productions.
• Troubleshoot audio, video, intercom, and broadcast systems.
• Maintain quality control for all feeds (Zoom/LiveU/truck feeds) and routing.
• Coordinate with external vendors for issue resolution.
• Perform studio and remote maintenance duties as required.
• Evaluate and test hardware upgrades for broadcast/networking systems.
