Job summary

FOX News Channel is seeking a Broadcast Reliability Engineer to build and operate intelligent monitoring and automation platforms powering our broadcast ecosystem. You will help ensure FOX content is delivered reliably across linear, VOD, streaming, and emerging media platforms.

You will work with cutting-edge tech, including AI-driven monitoring and real-time observability, while collaborating across teams to solve complex operational challenges at scale.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience in software-based design, development, or technical support projects.
  • Experience deploying, configuring, or administering monitoring/alerting/data analysis systems in both on-prem and cloud environments is a plus.
  • Experience with software development using C# and/or Python; familiarity with REST APIs, Git, and scripting/automation is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build and operate intelligent monitoring and automation platforms for a 24/7 broadcast operation.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure reliable delivery of FOX content across linear, VOD, streaming, and other media.
  • Apply AI-driven monitoring, anomaly detection, and automation to improve operational efficiency and viewer experience.

As part of our Broadcast Reliability team, you'll develop software, automate workflows, and leverage AI-driven monitoring to help ensure FOX content is delivered reliably across linear broadcast, Video on Demand (VOD), streaming, and emerging media platforms. While the role is primarily scheduled during daytime hours, flexibility to provide evening or overnight coverage for live events and critical operational activities is expected as needed.WHAT YOU WILL NEED1–3 years of hands-on experience working on software-based design, development, or technical support projectsStrong analytical, reasoning, and technical troubleshooting skills are essentialPrevious experience with architecture, deployment, or administration of monitoring, alerting, and/or data analysis systems in on-premises and cloud environments is a plusStrong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly document technical issues and present findingsExperience with software development using C# and/or Python; familiarity with REST APIs, Git, and scripting/automation is preferredExperience with production video and broadcast operationsExperience with IP networking and broadcast workflows (SMPTE ST 2110, ST 2022-6, multicast, PTP, etc.)Familiarity with monitoring platforms such as Skyline DataMiner or similar enterprise monitoring and automation solutions is a plusUnderstanding of AI/ML concepts, including anomaly detection, predictive monitoring, and AI-assisted operational workflowsExperience utilizing AI-assisted development platforms to support scripting, code analysis, troubleshooting, API integration, automation development, and technical documentationNICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKERBachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent practical experience) in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical fieldExperience with the Skyline DataMiner platform, including protocols, connectors, dashboards, automations, or low-code applications, is a major plusExperience with logging, monitoring, and observability platforms (e.g., ELK/Elastic Stack, Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, or similar)Experience with incident management workflows and integrations with ServiceNow, Slack, or similar platformsProficient with data formats and configuration languages including XML and JSONFamiliarity with SQL, time-series databases, or data visualization tools is a plusExposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus#Ll-KD1#DTCWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
