Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients and external vendors on requirements.
  • Complete technical reports to ensure equipment needs are met.

In this role the Broadcast Overwatch Specialist is responsible for the continuous monitoring, coordination, and operational oversight of live broadcast systems and services at the MLS facilities located in Stamford, Connecticut. This role ensures the integrity, availability, and quality of broadcast operations by providing real-time situational awareness, managing operational incidents, coordinating cross-functional response efforts, and ensuring seamless delivery of full production and REMI broadcast content. The Broadcast Overwatch Specialist provides leadership and oversight to on-site Technical Managers, ensuring consistent execution of operational standards. As the primary operational liaison, this role serves as the main point of contact for client communications, providing timely updates, coordinating responses to operational and technical issues.

  • Manage and provide leadership to on-site Technical Managers, ensuring operational consistency, technical readiness, and staffing coordination.
  • Monitor live broadcast operations, transmission systems, and supporting infrastructure to identify, assess, and respond to issues.
  • Serve as the primary operational point of contact during live events, coordinating technical teams, engineering, production, and external partners as required.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for client communications, providing operational updates, communicating service impacts, coordinating incident response, and ensuring timely resolution of client concerns.
  • Support the REMI team check-in process, verifying connectivity, equipment readiness, staffing, communication paths, and operational preparedness prior to live productions.
  • Quickly lead incident response activities, including issue identification, escalation, communication, resolution tracking, and post-incident reporting.
  • Work closely with the Broadcast Overwatch Manager to develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), incident response plans.
  • Maintain documentation, schematics, and as-built drawings.
  • Coordinate with NEP datacenter engineers and remote engineers to integrate systems, troubleshoot issues, and optimize live broadcast infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with client staff and external vendors to coordinate equipment, workflows, and technical requirements.
  • Complete technical reports to ensure equipment needs/issues are met and resolved.
  • Coordinate equipment needs by working closely with clients, operators, and managers.

Position Requirements:

  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Stamford, Connecticut.
  • Technical or B.S./Electronics field or Engineering preferred, however various combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Valid US Passport is required.
  • 5+ years of experience working in television production technology with progressive managerial responsibility.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technology, equipment, facilities, and production for major commercial and cable television networks.
  • Supervisory experience required; including project coordination, sales support, and other related activity.
  • Ability to interface with clients and provide a high level of service and support.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to NEP’s events as scheduled.
