Job summary

Nexstar Media in Denver, CO is seeking a Master Control Operator to support 24/7 broadcast operations, preparing material for on-air playback via automation.

The role requires experience with broadcast automation, IT skills, and the ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.

You’ll monitor systems, manage logs, ensure FCC compliance and coordinate with programming and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Technical degree is recommended but not required.
• Fluent in English.
• Minimum of 2 years in Master Control preferred; experience in a master control hub desired.

Responsibilities

• Available for shifts 6am–2pm, 2pm–10pm, and 10pm–6am; shift times may vary.
• Monitor and control the automation system for proper event execution.
• Prepare syndicated programming and run commercial breaks during broadcasts.
• Check each log in the automation system for accuracy.
• Ensure FCC rules compliance, including EAS, captions, and Children's Act.
• Verify airing material via program log and contact sources for missing material.
• Monitor transmitters and tower lights under FCC regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
