Job summary

Nexstar Media Group in Denver, CO, is hiring a Master Control Operator to support our 24/7 operating center. You will monitor the automation system, prep syndicated programming, and insert breaks during news and sports.

The ideal candidate has experience with broadcast automation or strong IT skills, can work flexible shifts including nights, and will ensure FCC compliance and correct logging. This is an hourly, non-exempt position with benefits.

Qualifications

• Technical degree preferred, but not required.
• Fluent in English.
• 2+ years in Master Control preferred; hub experience desired.
• Experience with Florical automation preferred.
• Able to use IT-based equipment in a broadcast environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and controls the automation system for proper event execution.
• Prepares syndicated programming and runs commercials during broadcasts.
• Checks every log in the automation system for accuracy.
• Ensures FCC rules compliance, including EAS and closed captioning.
• Verifies material airing via program logs and source checks.
• Monitors transmitters and tower lights under FCC regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.
