Job summary

Nexstar Media in Denver, CO, seeks a Master Control Operator to manage on-air playback via automation systems in a 24/7 environment. The role requires monitoring logs, preparing syndicated content, and executing commercial breaks during broadcasts.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in Master Control or hub experience, familiarity with Florical automation, and strong IT/computer skills. Flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays is essential.

Qualifications

• Technical degree recommended or related field experience
• Fluent in English
• 2+ years in Master Control; hub experience preferred
• Experience with Florical automation preferred
• Proficient with IT-based equipment in a broadcast environment
• Knowledge of server playback and recording and automation systems
• Knowledge of satellite spot delivery systems preferred
• Able to work independently with accuracy and solve problems
• Able to work flexible schedule including nights, holidays, weekends
• Must pass background check and have unrestricted US work authorization

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control the automation system for proper event execution.
• Prepare syndicated programming; run commercial breaks during newscasts and high-value network/sports programming.
• Check logs in the automation system for accuracy and compliance with FCC rules.
• Verify material airing via program logs and source missing material.
• Monitor transmitters and tower lights under FCC regulations.
• Maintain FCC EAS compliance and closed captioning logs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
