Job summary

FOX 26 in Houston is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to install, operate, and maintain broadcast and data networking equipment. The role involves RF and fiber workflows, system design with engineers, and hands-on support for live production events.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree in engineering/IT or 4+ years of related experience, strong problem-solving, and the ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering or IT preferred, or minimum 4 years of equivalent industry experience.
• Strong working knowledge of broadcast and network systems; RF and fiber optic workflows preferred.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently or in a team.
• Flexible, detail-oriented; able to climb ladders, lift 40 lbs and work in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and collaborate with other departments.
• Design, install, test, and document new systems and equipment with engineering.
• Maintain data networks in line with Information Security policies.
• Perform routine repairs and maintenance on broadcast system support.
• Troubleshoot and repair technical issues quickly to minimize outages.
• Perform software/hardware updates, testing, and installations as required.
• Provide technical assistance and training to staff on workflows and systems.
• Maintain engineering standards and best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
