Job summary

FOX KTBC Fox 7 in downtown Austin, TX is seeking a full-time Maintenance Engineer to install, operate, and maintain video, audio, and data networks including SMPTE ST 2110 based systems. You will support live broadcasts, collaborate with a skilled engineering team, and ensure security policies are followed.

The role requires problem-solving, teamwork, and flexibility. Expect onsite work, ladder access up to 20 feet, up to 40 lb lifts, and a strong focus on reliability.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Engineering/ IT or 4+ years of equivalent industry experience.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and concentrate for long periods.
  • Proactive, team-oriented, self-starting.
  • Flexible with changes in workflows and highly organized.

Responsibilities

  • Provide paramount customer service and collaborate with other departments.
  • Design, install, test, and document new systems and equipment.
  • Manage and maintain data networks following Security policies.
  • Perform routine maintenance to broadcast systems for live/production events.
  • Troubleshoot and repair faults quickly to minimize downtime.
  • Update software/hardware and install as required.
  • Train staff on operations and workflows.
  • Maintain engineering standards and practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
