Job summary

Shentel seeks skilled Broadband Technicians to install and service video, internet and phone for residential and business customers across our service areas. You will set up wiring and hardware, configure WiFi, and assist customers with home devices, while following safety practices.

Training is provided if needed, with opportunities for career growth within the field operations team. Local travel and climbing workload are part of the role, including weekend shifts as required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate tactfully & effectively with customers and company personnel.
• Have a valid driver’s license.
• Experience with installing and servicing home or business video, internet and phone services is preferred, but training is provided.
• Able to demonstrate basic PC/tablet skills using email and web browsers.

Responsibilities

• Installs and repairs video, internet and phone services for residential and business customers.
• Installs and repairs all required wiring/cabling and hardware (fiber, coax and Ethernet).
• Programs and configures digital set top boxes, video appliances and home WiFi services; assists customers with configuration.
• Operates and maintains field tools, including ladders, test equipment, laptops/tablets and meters.
• Observes all company safety procedures at all times.
• Support on-call rotation and possible weekend work.
• Work involves climbing, attic/crawl spaces, working at heights and driving across service territories.
