Job summary

Metro Communications and Conxxus in Metamora, IL is seeking an entry-level broadband technician to install and provision Internet, IPTV and VOIP services. You will travel in company vehicles for service calls and work with fiber and coax tools on residential and business projects.

Responsibilities

• Twisted pair copper (adsl and vdsl) and fiber installations
• Provision and monitor Internet/IPTV/VOIP services

Experience/Skills/Requirements

• Entry Level
• High school diploma/GED required
• Willing to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, holidays, and overtime
• Valid driver’s license; good driving record
• Knowledge of mechanical and consumer devices
• Willing to work in varying heights, close spaces, and weather conditions

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge/experience on processes leading up to actual installation process to turn up customers media services.
• Basic understanding of IT concepts and fundamentals/experience preferred
• Knowledge/experience with installation equipment
• Knowledge/experience with drop plow and/or trencher
• Broadband technician: 1 year (Preferred)
• Voice, data, coax: 1 year (Preferred)

Schedule

• Full-time position, 40 hours per week with overtime opportunities
• Shifts range from Monday – Saturday between the hours of 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM
