Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer Supervisor (Bridges) in King of Prussia to lead bridge inspection programs, guide critical engineering decisions, and coordinate with partners on major projects. The position requires extensive civil engineering experience, an Engineer-in-Training credential, and strong leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• Six years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty.
• Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists (or eligible).
• Two years of professional civil engineering experience with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related Eng. discipline.

Responsibilities

• Oversee bridge inspection programs for state and municipal structures to ensure compliance with federal and state safety standards.
• Review inspection reports, load ratings, and maintenance needs to support safe bridge conditions.
• Supervise staff and consultants; approve work products and conduct performance evaluations.
• Coordinate with partners and manage contract scopes, proposals, and consultant contracts for bridge inspections.
• Monitor priority repair items, coordinate work orders, and ensure timely documentation.
• Assist in selecting projects for improvement programs and prepare cost estimates.
