Qualifications

• Two years of professional civil engineering experience with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related Eng. discipline.

As a Senior Civil Engineer Supervisor (Bridges) for the Department of Transportation, you will guide major inspection activities and support important engineering decisions. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position oversees bridge inspection programs and related engineering work to ensure structures meet federal and state safety standards. It involves supervising staff, reviewing reports, coordinating with partners, and guiding technical decisions. As a Senior Civil Engineer Supervisor (Bridges), you will perform the following duties:

• Inspection Oversight: Manage bridge inspections for state and municipal structures and ensure compliance with national standards
• Engineering Review: Evaluate inspection reports, load ratings, and maintenance needs to support safe bridge conditions
• Staff Supervision: Lead engineers and consultants, approve work products, and administer performance evaluations
• Contract Coordination: Develop scopes of work, review proposals, and oversee consultant contracts for bridge inspections
• Maintenance Tracking: Monitor priority repair items, coordinate work orders, and ensure timely documentation

Work Schedule and Additional Information

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• This position may be eligible for alternate work schedule (AWS).
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 5 days per pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in King of Prussia. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $80,646 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Six years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
• Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or
• Two years of professional civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.

Special Requirement:

• This position requires possession of a valid Driver's License.

Other Requirements:

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
