Job summary

Velociti Services is seeking Bridge Tenders in Jacksonville, FL to operate and tend bridges, canal locks, and lighthouses to permit safe marine passage and orderly traffic.

You will follow all procedures, log all activities, coordinate with maintenance teams, and communicate clearly via VHF radio to ensure safety for vessels, vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists.

A strong commitment to reliability, teamwork, and customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and understand FDOT/Coast Guard manuals.
• Strong written and verbal English skills to maintain logs.

Responsibilities

• Open and close bridges safely for marine traffic.
• Control vehicle, pedestrian, and cyclist flow.
• Maintain logs and records per FDOT procedures.
• Submit maintenance work requisitions as needed.
• Communicate clearly via VHF radio.
