Job summary

STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION seeks a Structures Designer II in District Four. Responsibilities include preparing CADD plan sheets, reviewing consultant reports, and assisting with design calculations under guidance of professionals.

You will ensure plans meet criteria, assist with ASHTO/FHWA specifications, and provide support for preliminary engineering and post-design activities. A strong emphasis on accurate documentation and coordination.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; one year of continuous employment experience required.
• Post-secondary education can substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Prepares CADD produced contract plan sheets per design criteria.
• Assists in review and evaluation of consultant reports, plans, and calculations.
• Provides technical support for engineering reports and design calculations.
• Coordinates responses with State Structures Design Office and FWHA as needed.
