Job summary

Blythe Construction is seeking a Bridge and/or Structure Carpenter to join our Shelby, NC crew. This hourly role focuses on forming concrete footings, slabs, walls, columns, bridge decks, and bent caps, with emphasis on safety and precision.

Responsibilities include building and installing forms, assisting with pour and finish of concrete, and tying reinforcing steel. You will work with power tools and heavy equipment in an outdoor, high-activity environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and specs.
• Physically capable of demanding construction tasks.
• Previous bridge/construction experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Build and install formwork for concrete components.
• Assist in pouring, finishing, and curing concrete.
• Set and tie steel reinforcing bars (rebar).
• Operate hand and power tools and occasionally heavy equipment.
• Erect temporary supports, scaffolding, and rigging.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free work site.
• Follow safety rules and communicate hazards to team.
• Perform incidental duties as needed.
