Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Structural (Bridge) Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to join our Fairfax, VA office. You’ll work on designing bridges and related transportation structures, gaining practical experience with the latest technology.

Pursuing a BS in Civil Engineering (Structural emphasis) is required; prior internship is preferred. Proficiency with CADD tools (Microstation or AutoCAD) and good communication are essential; housing bonus may be available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Civil Engineering (with emphasis in Structural Engineering) is required.
• Previous internship experience preferred.
• Experience using CADD (Microstation or AutoCAD preferred).
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Desire to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Design simple and complex bridges (steel and concrete) and related transportation structures.
• Develop contract plans, prepare engineer's estimates and construction specifications, and perform construction support services.
