Job summary

Dewberry's Mechanicsburg, PA office is seeking a Structures (Bridge) Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to contribute to a team of professionals designing bridges and transportation structures. You will gain hands-on experience and apply the latest technology in a collaborative environment.

The role involves assisting in the design of steel and concrete bridges, developing contract plans, estimates and specifications, and providing construction support.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Civil Engineering.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency using CADD (Microstation preferred).
• A desire to work in a team environment.
• Prior experience with PennDOT is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Designing simple and complex bridges (steel and concrete) and related structures using applicable software.
• Develop contract plans, prepare engineer's estimates and construction specifications, and provide construction support services.
