WSP is initiating a search for a Bridge/Structural Engineer at our Baltimore, MD office. Be involved in transportation projects as part of our Transportation Team, contributing to innovative solutions that meet client objectives and address engineering challenges.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Perform professional bridge/structural engineering work including:
   • Development and drafting of plans and details using CAD software.
   • Field inspection and condition assessment of bridges, sign structures, culverts, and retaining walls.
   • Preparation of quantity and cost estimates.
   • Structural analysis and design calculations.
   • Review drawings for compliance with design intent and specifications.
   • Assist experienced engineers with broader activities.
   • Prepare technical studies, reports, and design documentation.
2. Incorporate advanced modeling techniques, develop concepts, and ensure safety and functionality of transportation infrastructure.
3. Verify site characteristics and provide technical assistance on structural soundness related to environmental or human factors.
4. Create accurate documentation using electronic systems, drawings, and 2D/3D illustrations.
5. Follow safety guidelines and site-specific procedures, including data collection and surveys.
6. Complete required training.
7. Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and ethical standards.
8. Perform additional duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
2. 3-5 years of relevant post-education experience in structural or civil design.
3. Engineer in Training Certification.
4. Knowledge of engineering analysis, design, and practices.
5. Understanding of design/build processes and relevant laws and codes.
6. Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
7. Ability to work independently, multi-task, and pay attention to detail.
8. Proficiency with technical software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, STAAD Pro, etc.
9. Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company policies.
10. Availability to work in the U.S. immediately and willingness to travel locally if required.
