Job summary

Colorado State University is seeking a Bridge Scholars Program Coordinator to supervise, support, and program for first-generation, low-income CSU students in the Bridge Scholars Program. This 12-month, full-time role leads statewide recruitment and admission, coordinates the eight-week summer residential program, and serves as a primary contact for student concerns during the summer.

Throughout the year the coordinator mentors students via the Community for Excellence (C4E) Scholar Contact

Qualifications

• Master's degree required; or Bachelor's with one year advising, supervising, or mentoring youth from underrepresented, first-generation, or low-income backgrounds.
• Experience mentoring youth from underrepresented, first-generation, or low-income backgrounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and build relationships statewide to develop the Bridge applicant pipeline.
• Manage the Bridge application process and admissions decisions.
• Coordinate pre-summer readiness (orientation, registration, housing, financial aid) and outreach.
• Plan and deliver the eight-week summer residential program with workshops and events.
• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise 8–10 residential summer staff; oversee payroll and performance.
• Manage daily summer program operations and respond to emergencies.
• Serve as C4E Scholar Contact for 50–60 students year-round and track scholarship requirements.
• Other related duties.

Position Summary

The Bridge Scholars Program Coordinator provides supervision, academic support, and programming to first-generation, low-income students admitted to CSU and participating in the Bridge Scholars Program. This 12-month, full-time, position leads statewide recruitment and outreach for the program, manages the Bridge application and program admission process, and plans and administers the eight-week summer residential program. The Coordinator recruits, hires, trains, and supervises 8-10 residential summer student staff and serves as a primary point of contact for student concerns and emergencies during the summer residential program. Throughout the academic year, the Coordinator further serves as a professional mentor through the Community for Excellence (C4E) Scholar Contact initiative, supporting approximately 50-60 CSU students.

Essential Job Duties

• Recruit and build relationships with schools and community organizations statewide to develop the Bridge applicant pipeline.


• Manage the Bridge application process and render program admission decisions using independent judgment against program criteria.


• Coordinate students' pre-summer readiness (orientation, registration, housing, financial aid) and conduct proactive outreach to prevent summer melt.


• Plan and deliver the eight-week summer residential program, including workshops, seminars, and signature events.


• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise 8-10 residential summer student staff, including overseeing payroll and performance.


• Manage day-to-day summer program operations, enforce program and residence hall policies, and respond to student emergencies and concerns.


• Serve as C4E Scholar Contact for approximately 50-60 students year-round, meeting each semester and monitoring progress toward Partnership Award (scholarship) requirements.


• Other related duties.

Supervision

Supervises 8-10 residential summer student staff positions, interns and graduate practicum students as needed.

Conditions of Employment (Administrative Professional)

• Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires).


• Valid Driver's License.


• Statewide recruitment travel and programing travel.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum Required Degree: Master's degree in a related field, OR Bachelor's degree in a related field with one year of professional experience advising, supervising, or mentoring youth from historically underrepresented, first-generation, or low-income backgrounds in an educational setting.


• Minimum Years of Experience and/or Skills: One year of relevant professional experience (required with a Bachelor's degree; not required with a Master's degree).

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in facilitating student learning through academic and student development activities and workshops.


• Demonstrated effective communication skills (including the ability to present effectively, write clearly, and demonstrate proficient use of computer applications).


• Demonstrated community relations skills including the ability to develop and maintain relationships between and amongst the students, programs, community, and CSU partners.


• Experience in record keeping and data management abilities such as maintaining records regarding program activities and student eligibility, performance, and submitting reports regarding student outcomes.


• Experience working with target populations including college students and high school students from first-generation/ low-income communities.


• Bilingual (Spanish).

Salary Range $60,000-$65,000/annually.
