Job summary

ATANE Engineers, Architects and Land Surveyors, P.C. in Edison, NJ seeks a Civil Engineer to perform bridge safety inspections and related analyses under a licensed engineer.

Responsibilities include inspecting bridges and ancillary structures, preparing reports, reviewing plans, and coordinating with junior engineers to assess structural behavior and safety for the traveling public. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 2 years of experience in civil/bridge engineering.
• Experience with bridge safety inspection and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a licensed engineer, perform bridge safety inspections using UBIU's, manlifts, lift trucks and barges.
• Prepare bridge safety inspection reports detailing areas requiring repairs or analysis.
• Work with steel, reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, masonry and timber structures.
• Prepare notes, calculations, reports, and other deliverables per client requirements.
• Review bridge plans and collaborate with junior engineers on structural behavior and critical locations.
• Inspect ancillary structures such as supports for highway signs, luminaires, and traffic signals.
• Provide recommendations to improve or maintain structure safety for the traveling public.
