Job summary

The Walsh Group - Walsh Construction & Archer Western is seeking an Assistant Quality Manager for the Miami Signature Bridge project in Miami, FL. The AQM supports the Quality Manager in implementing and executing the QMS and project-specific requirements on this major infrastructure project.

The role focuses on documentation, inspections, submittals, and collaboration with the project team, with opportunities to drive quality improvements and cost-saving initiatives on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent related field experience.
• USACE/NAVFAC/NRC Construction Quality Management certification preferred but not required.
• Industry certifications for testing and inspection as required to perform job duties.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in an applicable AEC field.
• Good communication skills, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, and ability to prioritize, organize and manage time.
• Knowledge of standards, specifications and publications of job-related duties.
• Limited travel for projects as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day quality management, documentation, and compliance.
• Lead pre-activity meetings, submittals, inspections, and QA planning.
• Provide project reports, inspection records, RFIs and close-out documents.
• Support schedule and subcontractor oversight with QA input.
• Advise on material management, submittals, and testing requirements.
• Develop inspection/test plans and QC procedures for the project.
• Share lessons learned via QIRs and implement risk-based improvements.
• Coordinate with operations, consultants, labs, and client for inspections.
