Job summary

Horner & Shifrin seeks a full-time Bridge Project Engineer for our Structural Business Unit in Missouri. This role requires 5+ years of experience and directs design calculations, drafting, cost estimates, and reporting on bridge projects.

Ideal candidates hold PE licensure with MO preference, strong communication, MicroStation proficiency, and willingness to travel to field sites. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required.
• Experience with bridge design calculations and detailing per MO standards.
• Experience with MODOT or Missouri Tollway projects preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in MicroStation.
• Knowledge of Structural Bridge Design Software.
• Previous bridge inspection experience preferred.
• Ability to traverse structural sites, heights, rough terrain.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Follow Bridge Practice production and design standards and procedures as delegated by the Project Manager.
• Perform and check structural engineering calculations of bridges, retaining walls, and other transportation infrastructure structures using company, client, and industry standards.
• Participate in the preparation and checking of structural construction drawings to meet firm and client requirements.
• Develop and check cost estimates.
• Participate in the preparation of reports and studies.
