Job summary

The City of New York, Department of Transportation, Division of Bridges, is seeking an Assistant Civil Engineer to support project engineering and records management.

Under supervision, you will assist with record drawings, contract reviews, and bridge capital project documentation, working at 55 Water St, New York, NY 10041. Hours are 8AM-4PM with potential for limited telework depending on position. The city offers robust benefits and a stable public-sector career.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in civil engineering or civil engineering technology with required years of experience.
• Master’s degree in civil engineering is acceptable for qualification.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Engineer in the Engineering Support section under supervision.
• Assist in responding to record drawing requests from in-house staff, other agencies, and consultants.
• Assist in reviewing contract bid books, specifications, contracts, as-build drawings, and shop drawings for bridge capital projects.
• Perform related duties as needed.
