Job summary

Thornton Tomasetti in New York is seeking a Project Engineer to contribute to planning, analysis, design, and delivery of bridge and transportation structure projects that serve millions of users daily.

You will work on iconic NYC bridges and other projects, coordinating with project managers and multidisciplinary teams, while taking increasing ownership and developing technical expertise.

Qualifications

• Has NY Professional Engineer license; NJ license a plus.
• Three or more years of experience in design and rehabilitation of bridge and transportation structures.
• Experience with highway, long-span bridges, retaining walls, transit or subway structures.
• Familiarity with NYSDOT, NYCDOT, PANYNJ, and MTA standards.
• Strong knowledge of AASHTO design methods, codes, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Support and lead design and delivery of bridge and transportation projects, including analysis, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Identify and help resolve complex engineering challenges through analysis of data.
• Coordinate detailed engineering tasks and schedules within project scopes with multidisciplinary teams.
• Review work for technical accuracy and alignment with project requirements and quality standards.
• Contribute to proposal development, client deliverables, and project execution efforts.
• Provide guidance and technical support to junior staff as part of project teams.
