The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) seeks a full-time Bridge Operations Engineer to support the Bridge Program in Cheyenne. This role involves evaluating existing structures and designing new ones to enhance safety and improve the state’s transportation system.

The position offers a $2,000 hiring bonus and a comprehensive package including health, retirement, and flexible schedules. Bachelor’s in Engineering and up to 2 years of experience are required; EIT/FE is preferred.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• 0-2 years of progressive engineering experience preferred.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) or Fundamentals in Engineering (FE) certification preferred.

Aufgaben

• Produce and check bridge load ratings to determine theoretical load-c carrying capacity.
• Analyze bridges on proposed routes for overweight loads and prepare engineering calculations.
• Review load ratings and designs for clarity and completeness.
• Design and design-check steel and concrete bridges, overhead sign structures, culverts, and walls per AASHTO specs.
• Calculate material quantities and construction costs.
• Assist in developing and maintaining BRASS and related engineering software.
