Job summary

MoDOT is seeking a Bridge Maintenance Worker in Willow Springs, MO. The role involves routine and emergency repairs on bridges in the state highway system under general supervision.

Entry-level to senior level opportunities exist within CAREER-LADDER tracks, allowing advancement without a separate interview as you gain skills and experience. Responsibilities include painting, maintenance, traffic control setup, and operating vehicles to move materials.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/HiSET is required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• CDL written test passed before hire; tanker endorsement; Class B; interstate status within 60 days.
• Annual cardiopulmonary function test and respirator training required.
• Pass a work simulation exam and a medical-physical examination.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency bridge repairs (concrete/steel) and deck replacement.
• Paint structural steel bridges and prepare surfaces for painting.
• Assist in preventative bridge maintenance.
• Set up traffic control devices (signs, cones, flags) and manage work-zone traffic.
• Operate vehicles/equipment to transport materials and crew; perform equipment maintenance.
