Job summary

Prudent Engineering, LLP is seeking a structural engineer to support bridge load-rating assignments, structural analysis, and rehabilitation projects across New York State. The role emphasizes working on transportation infrastructure with a strong focus on load rating and design challenges.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in structural engineering and an interest in bridge analysis. NY licensure is preferred but not required, with encouragement for licensure progress.

Qualifications

• Strong educational and professional background in structural engineering.
• Experience or interest in bridge analysis and load rating.
• New York State Professional Engineer license preferred but not required; licensure progress encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Perform bridge load-rating analyses for steel, reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, and other bridge types.
• Develop and review structural analysis models using bridge load-rating software.
• Review existing bridge plans, inspection reports, and related documents.
• Prepare load-rating calculations, engineering reports, model documentation, and submission materials.
• Perform structural analysis and design for bridge rehabilitation, repair, strengthening, and replacement projects.
• Coordinate with project managers, structural engineers, designers, CADD staff, and bridge inspection personnel.
