Bridge Inspection Team Leader - Structural Engineer

Join us at WSP in the U.S. as a Bridge Inspection Team Leader - Structural Engineer. We are seeking candidates for projects across our New England offices, including Boston and Worcester, MA/ Providence, RI/ Merrimack, NH/ Glastonbury, CT.

Job Description

As a Bridge Inspection Team Leader - Structural Engineer, you will:

  • Collaborate with our Bridge/Highway Design Team on project development and design tasks.
  • Perform structural engineering work and inspections.
  • Assist in preparing Bridge Load Ratings.
  • Participate in bridge inspections as part of a team.
  • Develop plans and sketches using AutoCAD.
  • Work independently or with a cross-disciplinary team of engineers, architects, and planners.
  • Provide guidance and training to entry-level engineers.
  • Support research, fieldwork, preliminary design calculations, and analysis.
  • Assist in preparing final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
  • Maintain project documentation.
  • Stay current with the latest structural engineering practices.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and WSP’s Code of Conduct.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in bridge inspection or design.
  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices.
  • Interest in transportation and structural projects.
  • Effective communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to lead and guide junior team members.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and technical writing.
  • Commitment to safety and WSP policies.
  • Flexibility for project-specific schedules and occasional travel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Enrollment in or completion of an accredited Civil Engineering or related graduate program.
  • Professional licensure or certification.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Participation in professional organizations.
